International Workshop on Biometric Recognition Systems

2223 October 2005, Beijing, China

In conjunction with  ICCV

Accepted Papers List

Call for Papers

Automatic and reliable authentication of individuals is becoming an essential part of the modern world, for security and convenience in our life, work and the society. Biometrics-based systems utilize physiological or behavioural characteristics of an individual including face, iris, fingerprint, pampering, hand, voice, signature, or a combination of them, for this task. We are now seeing increasing interest and practical deployment of biometric systems. This workshop will bring together leading biometrics researchers and system designers to promote the research and development of reliable and practical solutions for biometric authentication. A biometric authentication competition (BAC) on face, iris, fingerprint, and palmprint authentication will be organized and conducted by the workshop. The proceedings is planned for publication by Springer.

This workshop combines the annual Chinese Conference on Biometric Recognition (Sinobiometrics). In Sinobiometrics 2004, 60 papers were selected from 140 submissions and 14 were invited, contributed by researchers and industries from Korea, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, France, UK, US, as well as China; and the Proceedings were published by Springer LNCS. 280 participants attended the conference.

Topic Areas

While continuing with traditional issues in biometrics, this workshop attempts to promote R&D in biometric systems and new research directions. Contributions are sought on any area of biometrics, including but not restricted to the following topics:
