The 5th Chinese Conference on Biometrics Recognition

Biometric recognition technologies with booming development have attracted more and more attentions from academia, industries and government agencies in recent years. The 5th Chinese Conference on Biometric Recognition (Sinobiometrics'04) will be held December 13-15 2004 at GuangZhou, China. The purpose is to promote international exchange of ideas in the fields and provide an opportunity for keeping abreast of the latest international developments.

Conference highlights:

  1. Papers contributed by researchers and industries from Korea, Japan, Singapore, HongKong, France, UK, US, as well as China.
  2. Keynote lectures on advanced biometrics techniques:
    • Arun Ross & Anil Jain -- Biometrics
    • John Daugman -- Iris recognition
    • Raffaele Cappelli -- Fingerprint Recognition
    • Josef Kittler -- Multi-modal fusion
    • Stan Li -- Face Recognition
  3. Presentations on best performing systems on face, iris, fingerprint and palmprint.

The proceedings is published by Springer-Verlag in Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series, with the title "Advances in Biometric Personal Authentication".

We cordially invite you to participate in this event. We are now accepting registration. For more information about the conference, please visit http://www.sinobiometrics.com/conferences/sinobiometrics-04.htm

The 1st Biometrics Authentication Competition.
Biometrics Authentication Competition (BAC) is initiated by CBSR for performance evaluations of biometric algorithms and systems based on the CBSR multi-modal biometric database. The 1st BAC was performaed during Aug-Dec 2004, for face, iris and fingerprint recognition. The results are presented at the 5th Sinobiometrics Conference in December 2004.
