    Research Projects:

    1. Research on nighttime surveillance (Project page):

              fused image

    (a)  Original Nighttime Image             (b)  Fused Image

Description: Automatically combining images of a scene at different time intervals by image fusion. All the important information of the original low quality nighttime images is combined with the context from a high quality image of the daytime at the same viewpoint. The fused image contains a comprehensive description of the scene which is more useful for human visual and machine perception.  (More)

    2. Research on multiple cameras cooperation in surveillance (Project page):

    Handover

Description: Multi-camera tracking with non-overlapping fields of view is usually termed as “object handover”. The objective of handover is to maintain the identities of moving objects when they are traveling from one camera to another. More specifically, when an object appears in one camera, we need to determine whether it has previously appeared before in other cameras or it is a new object.   Main issues of this problem involve: object representation, object matching, topology inference and data association. 3. Research on image mosaicing in surveillance application:

Description: Stitching images together to extend the field of view of a single camera. Images are taken by a PTZ camera. SIFT features are used for feature correspondence in image mosaicing.
